With Buckethead, you never know quite what you’re going to get – video game noises, killswitch effects, slap bass, eight finger tapping, nun chukas, break dancing, lighting fast arpeggios, machine gun precision picking, chickin’ pickin’… You name it, he can play it. He has a virtually unlimited repertoire. The only thing I have not seen him do is play with his teeth. Maybe he’s working on this at the moment. j/k
The best part of this video is that Buckethead takes a classic GNR song and makes the solo completely his own. I love the way he treats this solo. Never does he lose sight of the melody. Whether he’s bending strings, shredding, or playing double stops, the melody shines through. It’s the highest statement of respect for Axl and the classic Guns N’ Roses legacy.
